Ontario Ministry of Transportation

Runding helped GSA consolidate data from other systems in Kahua via the developed integrations. GSA’s previous PMIS system had no meaningful integration and required manual processes to sync only some of their data to other systems. Once integrated, they had access to master data that helped them better track, tag, and sort Kahua records throughout the system; integration with their budget and cost systems gave them visibility and clear project management

MTO sought to replace their legacy system while retaining all archival data transitioning to Kahua with minimal disruption to business operations for ongoing projects.

The Challenge

MTO faced significant challenges with the complexity of legacy data from previous migrations to be orphaned or corrupt. Current workflows and user adoption challenges led to an inconsistent database. MTO had over 1.3TB of historical data that needed to be carried over.

They lacked:

  • A database for their large amount of historical data
  • Unified workflows and common practices
  • User adoption of common practices

The Solution

Runding utilized rLoad for the migration tasks

Runding:

  • Provided meticulous mapping and resolution of versioning issues of legacy documents to prevent data loss
  • Unified diverse data layers into compatible archives utilizing rLoad middleware to ensure integrity of data during the transition.

Results & ROI

This project provides MTO with a streamlined, consistent information database, including all of its archival data. Information can be more easily stored and retrieved when needed, leading to saved time and costs. Most importantly, this collaborative effort was executed with precision, completed on time and within budget.

With expertise in customized middleware, data mapping, UI enhancements, and custom app development, Runding played a pivotal role in ensuring the migration process aligned with project objectives.
