US General Service Administration

GSA transitions to Kahua, enhancing their efficiency and visibility across all projects.

General Services Administration (GSA) provides centralized procurement for the federal government, offering billions of dollars’ worth of products, services, and facilities that federal agencies need to serve the public.

The Challenge

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) was managing a large and complex portfolio of capital projects across multiple regions and programs, but their existing system (Proliance) was no longer meeting their needs.

They lacked:

  • A modern, flexible platform to support evolving project workflows
  • Consistent processes across regions and teams
  • Visibility of the organization’s projects across both their real estate and capital project teams

The Solution

GSA selected Kahua as their new project management platform and partnered with Runding to lead implementation, integration, and customization.

Runding:

  • Configured and deployed 15+ Kahua applications aligned to GSA workflows
  • Built 25 integrations across 8 enterprise systems to ensure seamless data exchange
  • Developed custom extensions to support GSA-specific processes not available out-of-the-box
  • Established scalable standards and reusable components to support long-term growth

This work directly led to the development of Runding’s rSchedule app, created to meet GSA’s scheduling needs within the platform.

Results & ROI

Runding helped GSA consolidate data from other systems in Kahua via the developed integrations. GSA’s previous PMIS system had no meaningful integration and required manual processes to sync only some of their data to other systems. Once integrated, they had access to master data that helped them better track, tag, and sort Kahua records throughout the system; integration with their budget and cost systems gave them visibility and clear project management.
